Crosswing Awning

This patent pending awning was designed around the question - "Why does my awning need legs?". We took it a step further and asked ourselves - "What if it could open and close in a matter of seconds instead of minutes". The result was an aluminum-cased, spring-loaded awning that deploys to 3 different lengths and opens in under 5 seconds. The legless design is rated up to 25mph winds, and if it gets a little hairy out there, the awning retracts just as quickly as it opens. We opted for a robust tarpaulin fabric, which allowed us to leave the face exposed, not only creating a unique look but also aiding in the speed at which the awning can be deployed.

Outpost Hammock Stand

The Outpost is a vehicle-mounted hammock stand originally designed in collaboration with TAXA Outdoors. With the success of the brand partnership and stand, our team decided to take the stand from a concept piece to a fully fleshed-out product. The stand is mountable from the roof of any vehicle and sets up in just a few minutes. The unique Outpost Ball Hitch Mount allows for the stand to work on uneven ground and pivot 120º from left to right. The fiberglass-reinforced Nylon leg assembly has two legs that pivot outwards and telescope, allowing the stand to work for a wide range of vehicle heights.

Baya Outdoor Hammock Lounge

The Baya is a modular piece of outdoor furniture designed for the backyard and beach resorts.

Community is at the center of everything Kammok does, however, hanging out in a hammock is traditionally a very solo activity. The Baya Hammock Stand was designed to change this by integrating a communal table. At its center, there is a removable leaf, which allows for storing a Yeti Cooler or placing an umbrella to keep cool in the summer months.

MANTIS ALL-IN-ONE HAMMOCK

The Mantis is an all-in-one habitat for campers at basecamp and in the backcountry.

For this project, I aimed to preserve all of the great qualities of our original products (Hammock, Bugnet, Rainfly, Straps) while reducing setup time and weight. The result included a raised structural ridge line which preserves head height while ensuring the perfect hang every time and a fully removable bug net so the user can enjoy those bug-free days. Fully packed, this new system weighs in just under 2 pounds (reducing the total weight of the original camping system by  nearly one pound).

TRAIL QUILTS

With the redesign of Kammok's trail quilt line, we re-introduced the Bobcat and Firebelly. The redesign reduces setup time and increases functionality by integrating cinching cords on each end that allow each quilt to quickly transitioning from an ultralight ground quilt to an all-weather hammock under quilt.

The Bobcat's stitch-through construction and 600fp Downtek duck down were chosen to keep costs low while providing a reasonable 45-degree warmth-to-weight ratio. Whereas the larger and more luxurious Firebelly trail quilt pairs a 3D baffle construction and 700fp Downtek duck down to keep you comfortable into those lower temps.

Some of the changes from the original design included: New 20D ripstop nylon fabric, Upgraded foot box cinch method, Snap integration allowing for infinite linkability, poncho mode, and a universal under quilt conversion kit designed to work on all standard gathered end hammocks

ULTRALIGHT CAMP

Our ultralight series is a collection of gear designed to get you further into the back country more comfortably. We achieved this through material innovation which helped reduce the individual pack weight and size of each product.

- The Kuhli tarp was made with a 2000mm 15D nylon diamond ripstop sil/pu body fabric which balances tear and tensile strengths and water repellency.

- The Roo Single UL combines a 20D double ripstop nylon fabric and a "soft shackle" suspension to keep its weight under 6 ounces, making it one of the lightest hammocks in its class.

- The Python 10 UL takes an innovative approach to being ultralight and meeting the newly implemented 2" minimum strap width requirement for Texas trees by using a minimal webbing ladder construction in place of a full width webbing.

Swiftlet Cup Holder

This Cup Holder was the first of a series of accessories designed to make the Swiftlet Hammock Stand the "basecamp" for any adventure. The symmetry of the stand allowed me to create a simple mount that attaches to either side and can be positioned at the user's desired height. I oversized the shape and added a mug handle slot, making it versatile for a wide variety of drinkware.

BURRO BACKPACKS

I designed the Burro backpack line to be waterproof, lightweight, and packable without sacrificing comfort or durability.

The Burro pack line is tailored to the city with backcountry functionality. The removable laptop sleeve doubles as a butt pad while on the trail. The YKK Aquaguard zippers keep your gear dry, and hidden pockets keep your valuables safe. When not in use, the Burro zip and Burro Roll pack down into the accessory hip pack for storage and travel.
